After my search, I would say that Black digital humanities is the study of how to use new technologies to better engage and explore the field of Black Studies. What stood out to me during my search was that digital humanities presents a problem for Black Studies scholars. This problem appears to stem from the normative idea that digital humanities and race are mutually exclusive, particularly at the university level. In addition to considering what Black digital humanities means, I think it is also important to think about what it means to be a Black digital humanities scholar.
