Black digital humanities is an emerging field that functions in a multi-faceted way. Not only does it offer a space for new knowledge production by black scholars, it provides an opportunity to discuss how technology is interacted with by different races. This has the ability to vitally shape the way large institutions utilize the digital humanities in a racial and gender sensitive way. As racial dynamics have been reproduced in the online world, the field of black digital humanities can inspire not only black scholars but everyone to become more conscientious of existing power structures and change the existing views around transfer of knowledge.
