Rutgers University requests a NEH Digital Project for the Public Discovery Grant for $30,000 to develop a working prototype for a website and corresponding social media platforms. From Chains to Cinema, will shed light on contemporary movies which focus on American enslavement, and seeks to unpack the historical weight of these films within the larger context of the institution of Slavery. The website offers its visitors an experience to engage these films in a brand new light, as well as American enslavement in a refreshing way not provided in the typical classroom experience. From Chains to Cinema is committed to offer this work to a vast audience as a way to contribute to national conversations of race in the United States.
It’s been real everyone! Wishing you all a safe summer!
